a certain new wilderness

June 20, 2011

a certain new wilderness,

new miscellaneous forms, with

lightswitches that scurry from one side of the room to the other

judging new distances between things

like fridges and windows

like doors,

like sinks

boxes half opened,

contents peeping out like curious but cautious children

wondering if they’ll be allowed to play in the new meadows

tiptoe through the jumble,

past the ukelele on the chair,

past the suitcase on the floor,

the vast wide spaces tamed with cardboard and ripped tape,

to the new view,

urban with righthand smudge of river.

warning:  may contain traces of Cambodia
