KWRF 2016

November 6, 2016

strings of phrases
hum in the air,
interwoven with
moto-farts and moto-snarls

kampot dogs
scamper and trot
on the outskirts of
audiences,
gatherings of ears
validating voices

as placid as possible
amidst the noise and haste:
the hawking of words,
the clicking of shutters,
the sipping of beer,
the flipping of phones,
the curling of accents,
the rhyming of tee-shirts,
the testing of patience,
the grizzle of beards,
the clapping of hands

forming clumps,
to listen, to talk,
where yesterday’s strangers
are today’s friends
